Roland Barthes present the idea how things that society feels is natural is actually socially constructed in his book Mythologies. He states that he “resented seeing Nature and History repeatedly confused in the description of our reality” (Barthes ). The way we present, talk and nonverbally communicate with others feels natural but the way people in society interact with one another is actually socially constructed. Society calls these norms to be natural when they are forged from history. The thought that these interactions are the “ways it’s always been” is rooted with customs, precedents and also religious practices. The “natural” feeling of interacting with some in a restaurant or on the street is a cultural construct.
